In most galleries, it is forbidden to express one's jubilation before a canvas; to express what one feels. At the Monnin Gallery, this is exactly what is expected of you.

The Galerie Monnin makes you vibrate.

The history of the gallery since it opened in Port-au-Prince in 1959 is also and above all the story of a family deeply rooted in Haitian realism and imagination.

Since then, led by the third generation of Monnin, the gallery for 60 years strives to be the cutting edge of the artistic and cultural development of Haiti; and this despite all the socio-political turmoil, the misadventures and the ups and downs of this singular little country of fiercely individual creators.
